How To Make Money With Trck.Me

Recently the tracking service I use went through a makeover, and if you spend time driving traffic to your squeezepages then you need to collect some data to make sure you’re not wasting your time, money or both.

Like the banner above says it’s super simple to use, and in this post I’m going to share some of my results.

Traffic Exchange Advertising

Before the rebrand Trck.Me was all about traffic exchanges, and it gave me one link that I put into any site that I joined, and then as and when I create a new squeeze / splash page I just add it into rotation and compare it against the current page.

Alternatively if I want to run a seasonal campaign I only need to visit one site to change up all my advertising.

It also let’s me track individual sites and monitor conversions. the site will give me a list of sites where the traffic comes from, and conversion can be recorded either as a click through or image uploaded to a thank-you page, ideal if you’re using a double opt-in process and want to know that people are giving you real details.

The reason for the rebrand was to allow the site to reach out to an audience who don’t use traffic exchanges, and it allowed for the site to become a paid only service – see this post about why relying on free services is bad for you business.

 Site Of The Day

At sweeva I always surf 10 days a site, and I’m an upgraded member. This means I generate a lot of credits, and I save these up to get my Click Track Profit squeezepage shown to all the members. As sweeva has a longer timer it means that the video has time to play, and here’s the results…

This is the url so you can see what I’m advertising

http://trckrs.com/6530

Note that any hits will show up as coming from this blog and won’t impact any other advertising campaign.

The number of credits it will cost you to get site of the day varies, but I’m happy that 7,500 credits resulted in my site getting seen by a lot of people. The 15% refers to unique visitors, so this shows that my site was shown a lot in rotation and this gives me good branding to the members who were doing more than just the 10 a day.

A conversion rate of 0.6% may not seem like much, but getting 24 new subscribers who have connected with me is awesome, and each of these people are now my Click Track Profit friends which means a relationship can be started.

Lastly I also got loads of great comments, and having people like your advertising means a lot.

Same Page In General Rotation

Now I have a co-op subscription which gives me a baseline amount of credits, and I when I do some surfing to collect the vault ‘n’ keys or a specific promotion I get spikes.

Yesterday’s extra spike occurred as I was feeling flush as one of the 24 leads from sweeva bought my Build A Quality List course :-)

Now with general surfing the same page still converts, but to a lesser extent than site of the day – here’s the stats so far for November – I don’t want to name & shame the site that has generated zero results from 232 hits as I find this a surprise.

Now as I’m using a personalised video squeezepage that I’m building up my brand, and as I use my surf time to look for the clever people like me who are using traffic exchanges to build a list coupled with the fact I actually like clicking at all of the sites I feel happy advertising on traffic exchanges.

If I was just promoting a generic affiliate link and didn’t understand the community I would not be able to turn a profit based on these numbers.

Safelists Still Generate More Leads…

Now here’s where the real money can be made by understanding tracking.

Advertising a squeezepage in safelists will generate a lot more leads, and all things being equal I should really spend more of my time advertising with safelists.

Again, note that I’m still using personal branding and giving away information that people want.

http://trckrs.com/31661

I know that  a lot of people are already sharing safelist tracking results, but if you look at my stats you will see my upgraded accounts at YourLuckyList & ListBandit from back in the day generate only a few hits, but the quality of leads is most excellent.

Can You See How Tracking Makes You Money Now?

In summary I hope this post has given you an insight into what sort of pages I’m promoting to build my list, and how I’m able to generate leads from traffic exchanges and safelists. If I was to move into PTC, banner advertising, solo ads, or giveaways then I can use Trck.Me to monitor what happens.

Just buying traffic and hoping for the best is like building a house with no foundations. It may look great, but you’re just asking for trouble in the long term.

How To Turn Your Big Idea Into Reality

We All Know Enough To Create Our Own E-book

I firmly believe that everyone knows enough about a random subject to write a report and use the internet to distribute it around the world to people who are are also interest in the same subject.

If you know what this niche is then you need to invest in buzzinar to get this report online and share your knowledge.

Like I say in the video I gained access to this via a fiverr client and I will be buying later this week so I can use this in the future when I revamp safelist secrets later this year. You have until the end of this week to decide, and take up my offer of technical support.

25 Tips For Getting Results From Safelist Marketing

I’ve been spending some time recently in the warrior forum and it seems that the minute you mention that you use safelists in your marketing the spears some out and you get attacked for saying you get results.

So here’s a list post that gives you some basic tips on how I get results from safelist marketing. No real order, just a good old fashioned brain dump, so I hope you find a gold nugget somewhere in here.

#1 Use Gmail, and set up a new account just for your safelist marketing. Currently I have 411.370 messages, the account is 25% full, imagine having that many e-mails on a pop3 account downloading onto your computer!

#2 Like all forms of advertising hundreds of safelists exist, but how do you know if they will actually deliver results? The best place to get started is listhoopla as this ranks the safelists based on testing and tracking.

#3 Use filters on your gmail account. If you want to look at messages from a particular safelist it’s super simple to find them. Here a video I made that explains how to set this up – http://www.safelistsecrets.com/free-video/download.html

#4 Think about the demographics of safelist users. The average safelist user is someone who is trying to promote something via the internet. So promote something that will appeal to this type of person.

#5 Don’t sell directly. The safelists that deliver the most traffic tend to be credit based, where the other members are simply checking out your site to earn credits so they can mail their own links. This means you have 10 seconds to make an impression, is a long sales page with a video that takes 15 seconds to load going to work well?

#6 DUSAP – Don’t Use Standard Affiliate Pages, you’re advertising and building the brand of someone else!

#7 Create a splash page – Use Adkreator to make your adverts stand out from everyone else.

#8 Self Branding, people buy from people, if you’ve created a splash page that explains who you are and why you’re promoting opportunity X it stands out from the sheep who are just promoting the standard affiliate page. Now if opportunity X is crap you will still be wasting your time, but at least you’re learning about branding.

#9 Stop being a victim – if results aren’t coming then look in the mirror before blaming the traffic source. Read this post and the comments from members of the traffic exchange community – http://www.hitexchangenews.com/news/stop-being-a-traffic-exchange-victim/

#10 Learn how to write headlines. When you check your gmail account keep a swipe file of the headlines that stand out, and adapt them for your own use.

#11 Tracking, when you get a positive result, how do you know where it came from? Was it even from your safelist marketing campaign? I use TEtoolbox to track all my safelist marketing campaigns.

#12 Patience, use your tracking to see the results of the same advert over the course of at least a month. It may be an internet myth, but apparently you need to see the same thing 7 times before taking action on it. Don’t quit after just one mailing.

#13 Testing, assuming you’ve managed to stick it out long enough to get some good data it’s time to try and improve things. Use your swipe files to see if a different headline brings more traffic, and does the extra traffic still convert at the same rate as before? Dull, but very profitable :-)

#14 Assign Banners & Text advertising, these are super effective if you want to actually do some branding

#15 Update your profile, sites such as ListSurfing put the sites inside a frame and show you the social media details of the member. Again this is brilliant for branding and costs you nothing extra to do it.

#16 Build A List – by now you may have realised that the people getting results are branding and building a list, don’t use lack of technical knowledge as a blocker for doing this.

#17 Get Involved – If you keep seeing the same faces advertising then get in touch and ask them for help / advice.

#18 Network don’t pitch! If you do decide to connect with someone through social media remember that just because you’re both into marketing doesn’t mean they want to see your affiliate links. Remember first impressions count, don’t be the sado pitching in the lobby and giving out business cards to people who don’t want them.

#19 Treat safelist marketing like a business. Don’t expect results without putting in effort, you should have already learned that a single $xx payment won’t make you rich overnight. Forget hype and focus on turning yourself into someone who fellow safelist users will trust.

#20 Set a budget for credits and upgrades. If the tracking and testing show a certain safelist works, then consider upgrading or buying an advertising slot, eg. login-advert or solo mailing.

#21 Set up a marketing funnel. When someone joins your list make sure you have something related to sell them, at the very least place banner adverts on the download page to cross sell related products.

#22 Start a blog, this is personal branding at it’s finest, and you can create a splash page around your best content so that you’re seen as someone who is worth listening to.

#23 Get to know the owners of the top safelists. I’ve created a safelist marketing facebook group via my alter ego of Hugh Robertson – Click Here to join

#24 Plenty of big name marketers will tell you that solo ads are a great source of listbuilding traffic. By learning about safelist marketing you’ve just set up a really effective marketing funnel, and if it’s profitable from safelist traffic then a paid solo advert stands a really good chance of working really well for you.

#25 This isn’t technically anything to do with safelists, but if you follow the clicktrackprofit training you will learn how to create splash pages for self branding and become part of a community ready to learn about using the internet to make some money

List Building For Bloggers – Part 2 – The Lead Magnet

So this video series has been created as part of a competition being organised by Barry Wells.

From Part 1 you know where to put the forms, but what do you need to get people joining your list?

Simply put you need some sort of lead magnet that will add value to your new subscribers. It’s important to realise that by giving away your best content you will create a strong relationship that will result in more sales during the follow-up process.

If you don’t already have a good lead magnet then it’s time to get creative. Go find an expert to interview, combine some old blog posts, or convert a front end product into a giveaway.

In part 3 we’ll be back on the computer showing you how to set up an aweber box in the sidebar.

How To Be A Leader In Your Niche

This post is going to show you the true value of social media, and how you can harness it become the leader in any niche where you have a passion and some basic knowledge.

First up, you need to have a twitter account where you only follow people who add value to the twitterverse and generally have more followers than following. If people in your timeline have #teamfollowback and filling it full of affiliate links and retweets of pointless crap then you really are wasting your time with twitter.

What we want to do is to use the power of twitter to form a relationship with the big hitters in your niche. Find the printed authors in your niche and start to follow and share the content they generate. If your niche has no printed authors then perhaps your target niche is a bit too narrow and needs to be expanded out a bit wider.

Listen To The Conversation And Join In

When your favourite author / industry big hitter tweets about a blog post or new website they like then it’s just given you a great big hint that other people who are in the same niche will be flocking to see this new content. When they arrive and see a fantastic comment that adds real value to the blog post your stock value will rise within the niche.

If you really want to get noticed then start retweeting or send a public @famousauthor message thanking them for sharing the content. To make this work you do really to have a passion or it will just have the opposite effect and make you look like a desperate spammer.

Set Up Your Profile Properly

Use a proper picture of yourself and link back to a proper homepage such a blog, and try to put something witty but personal to you in the bio box. If you just have a pic of dollars, an affiliate link, and a bio of proud “ACME overnight wealth” member, join pre-launch today… then again you’re going to look desperate.

So How Do I Become The Leader?

I found this blog post with a really great set of 4 simple things you can do.

Care – The internet is a bit like London Underground, it’s crammed full of faceless people who don’t speak. When you see something wrong don’t look the other way and pretend not to see it happening. When you show the world that you care about something it shows you have passion, and it’s passion / caring that will get you noticed by the leaders.

Celebrate – We covered this earlier in the post, but if you read something that you think is awesome then share it via as many different methods as possible and help make great content go viral across the internet. Again action like this will get you noticed by the leaders.

Correct – Sometimes you won’t be the first to find the new content, and on reading the comments you disagree with what has been written. This is a time where constructive criticism is required. Now don’t just go wading into the post and shoot from the hip. Pause, and turn this negative into a positive by writing your own blog post explaining why this comment was so wrong and highlighting the error in thinking.

Not directly relating to a comment, but this post from Patrick Griffin is a perfect example of how to do constructive criticism correctly – remember don’t name and shame, and tell the world how it made you feel.

Compensate – Really simple, if someone has done something you think is awesome then nominate them to receive a reward of some sort. The sort of gift totally depends on your niche, but I know that the guys at TimTech gave away tokens to all the twitter followers who replies to a specific tweet with their CTP username. Just remember small personal gifts are actually more powerful than big cash bonuses.

Last But Not Least…

If you want to be a leader then you need to act like one. Start caring about others, celebrate good work, correct wrong behaviors, and compensate in a personal fashion.

Just remember that it will take time, but if you put the work in then it will happen.

Andrew

p.s. Things like guest blogging and creating content for the owners of big sites in your niche are great ways to get noticed and seen to be someone who has the potential to become a leader.
