I’ve Just Thrown Out $5000 Worth Of Information – Am I Crazy?

Bye Bye Home Study Courses

For many years I’ve held onto the items you see in the video to act like a comfort blanket. I wanted to believe that I hadn’t wasted my money on them, and one day they would give me the riches they promised.

But as you can see so many are still in the wrapper, and the world has changed so much the information is now useless and they deserve their new home on the tip.

Butterfly Marketing was the only course worth the money, and it was actually software that had some interviews thrown in to give a “thud” value on arrival so it could live up to generating a million dollars in a day. Yes, back in 2006 you could find 1,000 people willing to pay $1,000. Granted most of that was spend on credit, and some will still be paying for it now, but it was a good feeling to be part of what I think was only second every product launch to achieve the magic million mark in the Internet Marketing niche.

Ultimately the point is that I have all the information I needed to make it online, yet I still go out to a job, albeit a well paid and flexible job that’s more of a hobby and allows me to discover new ways to develop potentially life saving drugs.

Spend your money learning how to create value, how to create a website, how to build a list, build up your personal brand, and then sell your own product or service. Don’t be like me and waste thousands looking for magic bullets.

Speak soon where you will see how I’m taking massive action now that I’ve thrown the comfort blanket out.

Andrew

Ha ha ha ha This is awesome!!! Best video I’ve watched in so long. Bravo man, bravo!!! And I completely agree…A service is the way to go. Products seem to have little staying power but the services that members use and need, that’s the way to go.

The lesson I took from this is “Take Action”! I think we can all relate to your story. Thanks for sharing.

I only ordered one of those mailed out courses the rest are on my hard drive. But its time to “forget about it”!

    Hey, Andrew.

I am having such a hard time wrapping my head around how you spend 5k on those courses. That is pretty crazy. It really goes to show how the “gurus” got filthy rich. No offense to you or anything. It is not your fault that the products did not deliver. About your last couple paragraphs, I completely agree. Hopefully things are working out better for you now, Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,
I guess I don’t have to tell you this…but you are not alone.
I have done exactly the same thing as you and I have courses just like you have that promised so much but sadly failed to deliver.
There was a time when I genuinely believed that if I bought enough of these courses then I would eventually find one that would work for me.
It was a painful and costly lesson to have learned but that “magic” course which is going to make you millions just does not exist.
    Great post.

    Hi folks,

It’s such a shame that the world of Internet Marketing sucks us all in and basically steals our hopes, dreams, and some cash. The trick seems to be realising fast enough to turn it around, and have some ethics about what to promote.

    Hi Andrew

I have tried all the magic bullets with affiliate marketing so I feel your pain!

I remember buying some software for $500 a few years back which was going to give me all the answers and inevitably it was just putting money into someone else’s pocket. And I made… nothing, not a penny!

So, you’re definitely right. Build up a brand and sell your own product or services. It’s the only way forward.

    Cheers

Hi Andrew, You have the right idea about selling your own stuff!
I think you will do well selling your services!
Shame about all that money spent on courses though…
Every step is a learning step and learning can be costly… Good video! Good Post!
