Free Marketing Advice From Frank Kern

The message explained in this is perhaps one of the most simple yet powerful messages you will ever see.

The reason I stay subscribed to Frank’s list is that I find he has a brilliant knack of breaking down complicated subject matter into simple to understand chunks.

It’s all about taking action on what you have rather than spending money on “shiny objects”.

Hope this helps you focus, and gives you some confidence what you’re doing is the right thing.

Andrew

Sometimes people fail to realize how awesome they are.

I just hung up with a new client who learned local marketing on his own, went out with no sales training, cold called local businesses, closed the majority of the people he talked to, and had happy customers that got results.

The “problem” was that he didn’t make the revenue he wanted so he felt kind of bad about it.

Little did he realize how much he’d already accomplished.

This man did what roughly one percent of people do, which is to learn a skill and then go out and face the world alone – trying to make a business out of their knowledge and ability to help others.

And it was hard.

And it was frustrating.

And he experienced setbacks.

AND WHEN THAT HAPPENED, HE GOT BACK UP AND KEPT GOING.

To him (Cesar is his name) and everyone else with a similar story, I offer you my respect and support.

Don’t quit.

People like you are who make the world turn.

We need you …now more than ever.

Frank

P.S. What has the world come to?? I didn’t even include a link for you to buy anything.

How can I dare to call myself an Internet Guru if I don’t try to sell you something at every opportunity??

Well, I ain’t GOT nothin’ to sell and you’re probably on everybody else’s list anyway so you already know about THEIR stuff.

So let’s do this. Let’s have an experiment.

Assume I included a link to something that cost…I dunno …$497.

And let’s say it was great and you said, “what the hell, I’ll give it a whirl” and you bought it. (Thanks!)

OK – now instead of buying it, let’s say you decided to take that same $497 and buy an AD.

Yes! An actual ADVERTISEMENT! Hot diggity we’re actually DOING marketing now! YEAH!!

Anyway – let’s say you set up a PPC campaign on Google (they’ve been cooler lately) or Facebook or whatever.

Nice.

Now let’s assume you bid $1.00 per click. OK great. So now the ad runs and you get 497 clicks from it (yeah!!)

Either of these two things will happen:

1. It’ll make a profit.

2. It won’t make a profit.

Either scenario is probably worth whatever you’d learn in any course I could try to sell you today.

Why?

Because you’ll have MEASURABLE RESULTS to work with.

You’ll have a documented CTR, an opt in rate, and a conversion rate.

SUMBITCH!

You’re practically at the 80 yard line already!

Now all we gotta do is either:

A. Run more traffic (if the ad was profitable, we’d be crazy not to).

Or…

B. Tweak the process and run another test (if the ad wasn’t profitable).

Keep doing that until you’re predictably profitable and guess what?

YOU WIN.

See there? No course needed. Keep your $497 or whatever.

P.P.S. OK fine. If you insist on buying something, go to Amazon or whatever and pick up Scientific Advertising by Claude Hopkins.

Best marketing book ever, period. I think it’s $8.

And if you like fiction, pick up “Dawn Patrol” by Don Winslow. #

Good stuff.

And if you like music, pick up “Roadsongs” by the Derek Trucks band.

Or anything by Jay Z.

In the mood for a wierd movie? Get Crazy People with Dudley Moore. Classic.

And pick up a skateboard while you’re at it.

No home is complete without a skateboard.

Hmmm…not too sure about the skateboard and I have no idea who or what Jay Z is. The rest all sounds pretty cool though.

    Hi Patrick,

Thinking of you blasting out Jay Z on a ghetto blaster whilst half piping is something that has made me chuckle this morning.

Thanks for the retweet as well, always appreciated. The sooner people realise they need something of their own to sell the better.

    Hey Andrew

There’s so many shiny objects out there it can sometimes be so tempting to just go and buy them!

I know I need something of my own to sell, I just can’t figure out what that is yet. I’ve been writing an e-book for ages and it’s not going places very quickly.

I’ve been stung by Google Adwords so I wouldn’t go down that route again but I would certainly consider Facebook.

Thanks for sharing Frank Kern’s message.

    Cheers
