Learn from people who are already achieving the results that you want.

So I’m now reading chapters of Jim Cockrum’s book on FREE ADVERTISING as Jim was the reason I first realised that you could sell information online for massive profits I thought getting his book from Amazon would be a good investment.

Here’s what I’ve learned from the first part of the book, hopefully more golden nuggets will form blog posts in the future.

As a seller of information online I need to keep on top of my online repuation, the last thing you want is for bad things to appear in the search engines when someone badmouths you on a public forum and all the link juice takes that to the top of the search rankings. Now thankfully I have already taken Jim’s advice on board, so I already deal swiftly with refunds and try to promote only people I trust, but I did learn a neat little way to automatically make sure that I don’t miss anything.

Set up a google alert for “your name” & any related company names that you actively involved with

Everyday I get an email with all the lastest posts, fortunately most of the mentions are not for me, but it’s great to receive an email that tells me my lastest blog post has been ranked into the search engines.

Now this brings me onto the 2nd part of the title in this post – How to become an expert.

You see over and above your name you can set up alerts for anything that you want, and if you do this you can instantly find out about the lastest news for the niche that you want to become an expert in. For example I have chosen to get daily updates on “safelists” and it means that I have a constant source of new information and blog posts where I can share my knowledge on the subject and generate backlinks to my site.

Although this takes some time and effort the effect of doing this will mean that in the eyes of the reader searching for information on safelists will stand a much higher chance of finding their way to my site thanks to this hard work.

Don’t you think it’s about time you put google alerts into part of your business?

I’ve decided to go back to basics, and start using Traffic Exchanges again.

I’ve not used them properly in nearly 5 years, but I knew that Jon Olson is still the man to learn from, so I knew that click track profit was what I needed to do.

The site is essentially a drip fed video training course where you have to do certain tasks before the next video becomes available. It does take time to do the tasks, but you will soon learn what you need to do to be successful with traffic exchanges.

Hint – it is about branding and finding ways of forming relationships with other members of the TE community.

The one biggest difference I noticed is that all sites now have a chat function. I’ve been using this occassionaly to ask some questions and find out why Click Track Profit has become so popular.

The reasons below are a summary of the answers, if you have another reason be sure to add it in the comments section.

#1 The Owners

The site is owned by TimTech and these guys are stand out leaders in this industry. They live and breath the world of traffic exchanges, they have fantastic support, and have taken the Gary Vaynerchuk way of turning this passion into multiple income streams.

Rather than constantly pitch you with affiliate offers all the emails you get have content / special offers. They leave the pitching to the pages they advertise in the exchanges. When I see a new page from these guys I’m saving it to use as a template.

#2 Adkreator

This site is the answer to your TE advertising branding issues. I have no graphical skills and yet it is super easy for me to create brilliant splash pages within minutes. Your creation is instantly saved as a single graphic and hosted for you on super fast servers. This saves you a lot of time and hassle when you want to make any changes, and helps make you look like a professional advertiser.

I have upgraded in adkreator as it gives the ability to create a squeezepage so I am listbuilding directly in the surfing window of the traffic exchange. The point of the normal splash page is to get the viewer to click out of the surfing window and visit the site you’re promoting.

When you spend time surfing you will start to see what is possible, and the creative ideas you can have will make upgrading seem like a “no-brainer”

#3 – Clicking

Modular training is given to you where you have to complete a task before moving onto the next video.

The click part is pretty self explanitory, and you have send traffic to your tracking link to reach the next level.

Certification requires you to send 100 hits from 5 exchanges, and expert status is much harder to achieve with 1000 hits from 10 exhanges required.

Whilst doing all this surfing extra content is drip fed to upgraded members. I am getting some real value from the extra videos as it’s giving me ideas on things to test in my advertising. Whilst surfing I can see all those trying to reach expert status without the extra videos.

The people who taking Jon’s advice and doing something different really stand out from the other affilliates, and if you found your way to this blog post from a page I advertised directly what was I doing that made you notice me from the thousands of other pages in rotation?

It’s also amazing how much you notice the same people who are still promoting the same rubbish sites. The great thing about social sites like sweeva is that you can give these people a thumbs down to give them a hint that what they’re advertising sucks. On a more positive note you can also leave positive feedback, and a good page can also be tweeted / liked on facebook to show your appreciation.

Hint – It’s probably easier to get facebook friends / twitter followers than it is e-mail addresses, so whilst clicking take the opportunity to get into the community and add value to the conversations.

#4 – Tracking

When you start assinging the credits you earn / buy then you will see that not all traffic exchanges deliver traffic equally. I know that despite surfing for a long time one exchange I need to become an expert is extremely slow at delivering the traffic. Once the 1000 hits have been delivered I won’t be going back to it.

The other extreme is that surfing 100 sites at EasyHits4u I can get 100 visitors within a few hours. Now to me this sort of instant return and ability to see if the results are good is far better than surfing 250 sites to get < 100 hits over the next week.

Once the expert status is achieved I’m hoping that the training videos will go into more detail on how to measure the stats within TEtoolbox better. Still very much a novice on trying to see if long term branding adds more value than lots of unique hits to people?

#5 – Profit

Now this is a slow burner when it comes to TE’s. You never sell directly as you only get 15 seconds, and even if you were selling bottled water in the desert you’d struggle to close a sale in this time frame.

The profit comes from the process of you being seen as someone who is worth listening to. If all you do is constantly much get rich quick then don’t be surprised when the good times go even faster than they arrived.

What you’re aiming to do is build up a steady stream of traffic into your marketing funnel. This means that if someone likes one of the pages that you’re promoting that you have a way of making some cash through the programmes and websites that you are going to recommend to them.

For example I know that a new list subscriber / targeted blog visitor / social media friend is going to see that I use safelists and traffic exchanges to generate traffic. All the best sites have space in my email follow-up series / download pages, and here on my blog.

If you combine all of these multiple things then it can start to snowball into a nice income stream. We’re not talking quit your job money here, but if you are able to save up all this money then you can buy treats to make life better in whatever way you want.

Conclusions

The whole ethos of click track profit is about learning a system that will help you generate traffic to your internet marketing websites. Once you have a steady traffic stream you can start trying out different things and find out the best way to achieve whatever it is that makes you spend hours on the internet.

As it’s Friday night and I’ve put the girls to bed I decided to create some content and show you the benefits that one of my fiverr squeezepage critiques can give to your business.

Now first of all I must say that I congratulate everyone who has taken the first steps towards building a list and put themselves out of their comfort zone either mentally or technically. The person I have chosen is someone who has been active on facebook, and I really hope seeing their squeezepage through the eyes of someone with a bit more experience gives you an idea of how to make more money.

So the major things to address here are as follows:

The aweber redirect goes straight to the join-up page for trafficleads2income. I would change this to a confirm page so that people aren’t entering their email and then being asked to do the same thing again.

Not much point getting the intial opt-in only to confuse them within seconds and wonder what they’ve just entered that precious email address for?

Next I would create a blog post that outlines the benefits of trafficleads2income and introduces yourself to the new subscriber. Make this as personal as possible and really try to connect with your new subscriber, it really will help you stand out from all the other affiliates, and probably get you noticed by the owners of the main affiliate site.

The first email was good as it did introduce yourself, but the use of the blog just helps to show the more personal approach, and suggest that there’s more to you than just promoting a make money online site.

By having this content on a blog you’re also able to passively be advertising. A good blog theme allows for placement of banner adverts and integration of social media so that you can really cement relationships.

A central blog with your own content means you have somewhere you can link back to when you comment on blogs / forums / social media. As a blog owner you need to big yourself up and tell people why you’re the expert in a particular field. If people see you telling them how successful you’ve been with traffic2leadsincome you stand a much better chance of getting them into the site and upgrading which means more commission for you

So although the whole tone of the video is a little bit on the negative side please remember that just by creating the opt-in page Chris is well ahead of many others, and taking the steps outlined above will really help you become a better affiliate marketer.

I’ve had the idea to write this post for over a week now, and it totally sums up why I still work in science and not full time online. You see the #1 reason why my internet business is not working is me…

There I said it, I am the reason that my business is not growing at the rate it should be!

For some people it can be a lack of self belief that holds them back, for others it’s a lack of technical skills, but for me it’s down to lazyness. I’m not scared of hardwork, it’s more that I can never be bothered to finish a job properly.

Sadly this is life in general not just my internet business, here’s some examples…

• 2 years ago I fitted our kitchen, and I still don’t have the base kickboards fitted!
• I still have a paper driver license registered at my mum’s house – I moved out in 1999
• Expensive marketing courses like TrafficSecrets v2 sit unopened under my desk

It’s not that I don’t know what to do, or how to do it, more just an inability to finish a job.

Now that I know my weakness, will I be able to fix it?

At the moment I have my next product already created, but I’m holding off even starting on it until I’ve made 500 sales of my safelistsecret report. I’ve made a good start by actually running my own wso via digiresults and have had 2 affiliates unknown to me both generate double digit sales.

Here’s what I need to do for the last 10% to really achieve my goal.

1. Record a 2nd version of my salesvideo based on feedback – emphasise how I still work and manage to earn several hundred per month from 2-3 hours per week once I set up the squeezepages.
2. Edit the digiresults buttons to make the default link to the main salespage rather than the WSO, and put in the funky new buttons that digiresults now give you.
3. Create an affiliate page with copy & paste material and banners along with details of how to create the affiliate link – I can use a template that all top clickbank sellers already use (no point re-inventing the wheel)
4. Upload a video to the affiliate page with details of prizes / integration marketing offers over and above the 100% commissions that are available.
5. Start charming the people who I think would be interested in promoting.

Can you see why with a list of things to do that account for the last 10% why the success of your internet business lies with yourself, and why so many people give up in frustration.

Sure I could go down the 4 hour week approach and outsource it all to someone who is organised, but the thought of trying to hire someone is even more daunting that doing it myself – this time I know it will happen.

Anyway, time to actually go and try to do some of the things on the list

The basic principle of online business is as follows:

Traffic + Offer = Sales

Like most people my favourite part is the Sales, but even those with no mathematical qualification will realise that if you don’t work on Traffic & Offers then you don’t make any sales.

By the same principal if you spend all your time creating offers then it would the same as setting up a bespoke suit for rich City Traders in the Outer Hebrides rather than Saville Row in London – for those from outside the UK look up Google Maps!

Now I’m guilty of buying products that help me understand the whole offer process. I know that you give away free content, include upsells & downsells via the butterfly marketing script, and that you put loads of cross sells on the download page, and put a dozen messages into your autoresponder. Heck I’m even planning on a micro-continuity site where I do free plus shipping with 2 weeks free coaching followed by 12 weeks @ $47 per month.

So I think that you can see that the part of business I hate is traffic generation. Now I do have some systems in place, eg adswaps and safelist mailings, but with so many tactics available I just don’t have the time / get bored, and end up doing a half arsed job to actually get the results I want.

Over the next few weeks this is about to change, I’ve realised that the way to make a business grow is to hire people to do the bits that you hate. The more I study the marketers I want to emulate, the more I realise that they also hate traffic generation, and they outsource it people all over the world who in this current ecomonic climate are more than willing to do it.

At the moment I’m waiting for my Automated Traffic Blast to arrive, Lee’s video was exactly what I was looking for – it may be worth hiding your credit card before watching!

I think that the term “Affiliate Landmines” was coined by Russell Brunson, and it basically refers to a free report that you give away to as many people as possible.
