Damn You John Reese…

So it’s now been almost 24 hours since Traffic Secrets 2.0 went live, and last night I couldn’t sleep for trying to decide it I would purchase.

You see I had in my mind that John would be selling this product at the high end price of $997 and that would stop me from purchasing. But by pricing it at $397 it’s almost the irresitable offer, especially as he’s including the original Traffic Secret course, and all future updates.

Now if I do decide to purchase (the cash is already burning a virtual hole in my paypal account) I need to decide who’s affiliate link to buy through. Normally I would purchase higher value items through Gary Ambrose’s link, but as I have almost all of his material it might be worth looking at other offerings.

My blogging mentor Yaro Starakhas a pretty cool bonus that would certainly help me get more recognition and help me brand myself as a listbuilder. I’ve also seen other offers of PLR products to create a minisite so that all this new traffic can be monetised.

All in all it’s driving me mad, hence my need to swear about the great man. If only John had hyped the salesletter up and priced it at $997 life would be so much easier…

So basically I want to know if anyone else had the same sleepless night, and what bonuses are available?

Andrew

p.s. If you’ve already purchased can you let me know what’s on the inside, and I look forward to reading your comments.

What Was The Last Thing Your Learned?

Hi folks

For once it’s a brilliant sunny day, and thanks to the wonders of wireless internet I’m sat in my garden with a cold beer writing this post.

Last night I was given a great free product from Matthew Glandfield. I downloaded the interview onto my ipod, and I listened to the interview with Simon Leung this morning at the Gym. I wanted to know more about how he build a list using google adwords.

This interview is fairly old, but I got some great little nuggets about what I need to do if I want to create a google friendly squeeze page. Currently all my traffic is generated from free traffic, so can you see why I wanted to learn more about how to get the best traffic from google for the lowest price.

Basically the key is relavency, and having links back to my main site that has the terms and conditions, this shows the mighty G that I’m not a fly by night scam artist. Also if I take basic SEO and put the keywords I want to bid on into the title it increases my relavency further, and helps to get me cheaper clicks.

It sounds so simple, but one of the fundamental reasons why the google slap came about was that people were just bidding for the keywords with the highest number of searches and this meant that the person searching was being present with a load of paid links that didn’t really match their search.

If google hadn’t slapped the offenders it would lose big time - do you thick it would still be the #1 search engine if everytime you searched the paid links on the right weren’t up to the same standard as the organic results?

So now you know what I learned today I want to know what the last golden nugget you picked up was.

Also if you aren’t already doing so you need to get some of these audio interviews onto an ipod (or generic mp3 player) and start to expand your mind.

Don’t be afraid to “Press The Button!”

This is a concept that I picked up from a free report that was going around as part of the promotion from Tellman Knudson and Shawn Casey for listbuilding.com

Basically once you’ve made the decision to build a list, the most important thing to do is to use the broadcast button. You see the whole point of building a list is that you can drive traffic on demand to whatever website you want.

One of the best feelings in the world is to waking up in the morning to find that the affiliate promotion you mailed your list about 24 hours ago has earned you hundreds of dollars worth of commission.

Assuming you’ve got a traffic strategy in place that’s generating you fresh leads you can blast out 2 or 3 times a week and keep on making those extra affiliate sales per broadcast, over and above that generated via your normal follow-up.

Notice that I said a consistant traffic strategy, everytime you send out a broadcast you will have people using the unsubscribe link, but this is a good thing. If someone doesn’t want to hear what you’ve got to say then the chances of selling them something are zero, so it’s best to keep on selling to those like hearing from you.

If you’re like me and regulary purchase IM products you will be on a lot of other marketer’s list. When you see the same being promoted in your inbox it’s a clear indication that a hot selling product launch is in progress. This means that you should grab yourself an affiliate link, and cash in on all the hype.

Also you should be aware that it can take people up to a dozen visits to a salespage before they buy, so taking the time to write a follow-up email can really pay huge dividends.

So in conclusion the point I’ve been trying to make is that regular contact via the broadcast button is the quickest way to give your bank balance a quick boost. Take a look around this blog, do you notice that even though I’ve sent you free content today the blog has several links to affiliate products, which is building on the follow-up / repeat exposure required to clinch the sale.

The last tip is marketing 101, so make sure that you’re blog has related affiliate links to capitalise on the repeat traffic your list generates.

Happy Listbuilding

Andrew

As always please leave a comment, it’s a great way to generate links to your site.

Why Is The “Free Line” Moving?

I watched this video from Frank Kern about a month ago, and it seem’s he really is the Guru’s “Guru”.

He talks about the “Paid For Life” business model where rather than relying on creating product after product you turn them into loyal subscribers who pay you month after month for content / services.

Now let’s try to see how the recent launches of Mike Filsaime and Keith Wellmann tie in with this model, and why if we compare it to the real world it’s a great piece of marketing.

Until recently the marketing funnel went as follows:

  • Enter your email to get a free report, audio interview, or video tutorial at a website
  • You get presented with a related One Time Offer
  • Follow-up via email giving you a mixture of content and reviews of related products
  • The list owner will build a relationship with you, and when a big product launch appears they will try to sell you a home study course retailing at $997 - I’ve bought Butterfly Marketing & Million Dollar March at that price!

This method still works, but for every 1 big homestudy commission you need to put thousands in at the front end of the funnel, and trying to stand out from the crowd in this attention deficient age is growing ever harder.

By turning the funnel on it’s head and giving away the homestudy course Mike & Keith are getting the best customers onto their lists, and the “Paid for Life” model combined with Upsells for other HomeStudy packages means they will get a very healthy return on investment.

A real life example of this can be found by going down your local shopping center and paying a visit to a mobile phone shop. Look at all the newest models of phones, and you will see them advertised as “Free” but in order for this to happen you must give over your card details and sign a monthly contract. The assisstant will also try to upsell you extra minutes, texts, photo messages, and you’ll also have to reject the offer of a years worth of insurance for 50% off the monthly rate.

So the offer from Mike & Keith is a bit like a “Free iphone” campaign, it allows you access to the latest and most advanced technology without you having to fork out hundreds of dollars.

Go look at these offers and remember that unlike phone contracts you can cancel within 30 days, and all it will cost you is the shipping and handling.

p.s. As ever I’d love to hear your comments, and note that the link to Mike’s site actually belongs to Bob The Teacher, and that the salespage has evolved put more emphasis on the monthly magazine.

Clarification about the 7FigureSecrets

Hi folks

Seem’s like my last post hit a raw nerve, and a few people have got the wrong end of the stick, and jumped on the word “sneaky”

My rambling video below explains my situation, but if you don’t have time to watch it then read then here’s a summary. Forced Continuity done badly is sneaky, but Mike is making it perfectly clear what you’re signing up for, and has explained below how easy it is to cancel the repeat billing.

So this means that Mike is not being sneaky, and nothing is being hidden in small print.

Finally I think Tom is right, the actual product for just the shipping and handling is pretty close to “an irristable offer”.

Should I promote Mike Filsaime this week?

Hi folks

Previously I wouldn’t have thought twice about promoting anything by Mike Filsaime.

It was his carbon copy videos that taught me html, the butterfly manuscript helped me learn the whole concept of the “One Time Offer”, and his Butterfly Marketing Script powers my ListBanditExpert website. His new product is a condensed version of the “7 Figure Workshop” that people (including me) paid $777 in July last year, so I know that what you’re getting will be top quality information.

The reason I’m not sure about promoting is because although it’s free you will have to enter your credit card details to pay for the p&p. Now recently he’s been giving away some of his other products in a similar way, but when you read the small print it says you’re also joining his paid newsletter and you will get billed $24.95 after 7 days, and every month you remain a member of the newsletter.

To me this is pretty sneaky and part of a growing trend where more and more of the big names are trying to people into forced continuity programmes. To me the idea is a bit like the porn industry where you get the instant gratification for free, and then rely on you forgetting to cancel the billing.

Also I’m sure that the site will have a whole host of upsells & downsells, and you will probably get the chance to buy the digital download of the Butterfly Marketing Script for a lot less than $1500 - brilliant if you want to launch your own site in the near future.

So please post a comment to let me know your opion on this matter.

Andrew

Edited on 5th June

The site is now live, I won’t be promoting directly, but I can confirm that Mike has been totally upfront about adding you to his monthly newsletter, so if you take up his offer but don’t want to pay the monthly fee for the newsletter then make a note of the number on the order page so you just pay the S&H.

Here’s Bob Jenkin’s link, he’s giving you extra material for going through his link

Thanks for all the comments, and in future please give Mike the respect that he deserves, it was a bit unfair of me to make comments on something that I hadn’t personally seen.

5 Tips For Traffic Generation

Traffic is the blood of your online business, you could have the best website in the world, but without the traffic flowing through it’s arteries it wouldn’t make you a single cent.

So here’s 5 tips to help you generate more traffic to your website.

#1 Leave comments on blogs, but don’t just do a few lines, actually add a proper response. If people are interested in what you added they will be able to find your website.

#2 Put your website url in your profile at your favourite forums, that way your website link will appear at the bottom of every post you make.

#3 Add an opt-in box to your website. This will capture the email of your visitors, and you can send out emails to let people know when you’ve added new content.

#4 Provide space for advertising. This way you can swap banner and text links with people who have similar websites. If you have a product that you sell be sure to swap affiliate links :-)

#5 Write articles that are relavent to your niche. When they get published at the various article sites you can place a link back to your website in the resource box at the bottom of the article.

Hope you find this usefull, and be sure to implament tip #1

Welcome To The World Elsie…

So here she is, my second daughter

Elsie was born today at 13:06 in Macclesfield General, and weighed in at an almighty 8 pounds and half an ounce. Amanda & Elsie will be coming home tomorrow, and I get 2 weeks paternity to get used to living with 4 women!

Andrew

p.s. Remember to keep on list building, my paypal account just paid for a nice new Phil & Ted’s buggy, so it can give you a better life.

Think Rich - Buy Assets…

As you probably know I’ve been reading “RIch Dad, Poor Dad”, and one of the differences between the 2 dad’s is the way that they think about the simple things in life.

Poor Dad thinks this biggest asset is his house, whereas Rich Dad thinks of it as a liability.

The reason being that buying a house via mortgage actually cost you money every month, and it takes 25 years before you actually own it. Now compare this to a property that you rent out.

You put in some initial capital, and rent it out each month for profit, you then invest that profit into buying another property, rinse and repeat for maximum profit.

Now in marketing terms here’s a site that teaches you how to create lots of little assets

==> http://www.andrewstark.com/recommends/4MinuteMoney

If you follow Brian’s tactics you can set up lots of little assets, so start thinking like Rich Dad

5 Ways To Make A Sale On The Internet…

I hope you find this article usefull, and I’d love to read your comments.

#1 Sell Other People’s Products

Basically you drive traffic to your affiliate page, and if anyone buys then you get a commission on the sale. Clickbank & PayDotCom are great places to find ebooks where you can earn up to 75% commission.

Now although I’ve put this as #1 I don’t rely on this as my main source of income. If I was to spend all my time driving traffic to other people’s sites then I would be building someone else’s list rather than mine. The best way to make affiliate sales is to include them in your autoresponder series or promote via viral ebooks as part of your listbuilding.

#2 Resale Rights Products

This is where you buy the product and sell it on for 100% profit.

Now you should be carefull when selecting a product to resale. It should be a product related to a niche that your interested in, and it should come with graphics and a salespage that you can customise to fit your market.

If you combine several resale right products from the same niche you can put these together and sell as a One Time Offer to anyone who opts-in to your list.

#3 Private Label Products

This where you buy the rights to fully edit a complete product, and then sell it as if you were the author.

A lot more work is involved here, as if you’re selling with your name on the cover then it needs to be something that you’re proud of, and not just a series of rehased articles full of spelling mistakes.

A good tactic with PLR products is to take out a chapter and turn it into a viral report than you can use in giveaway sites to generate leads and send targeted traffic back to the main salespage.

#4 Create Your Own Product

If you’ve been targeting your list on a specific niche then you should have lots of ideas for potential products.

Typical content would be an e-book, a piece of software, interviews with experts, or a mentoring service.

Now in order to sell this product you will need to create some graphics and a salespage - I would highly recommend that you outsource the graphics and copywriting. Now this probably won’t be cheap, but the more you spend on your copywriting the better your salespage will convert.

#5 Create Your Own Affiliate Army

Now that you have your own product you should provide a way for other people to sell it.

If you sell the product using a membership script like Launch Formula Marketing ever buyer will automatically be given an affiliate link. By using LFM you can also give away copies of your products to the big players in your niche and get them on board as Joint Venture partners.

To really kickstart your online income it would also be great to get your product listed on Clickbank or PayDotCom so that you can get affiliates from all over the world promoting your product.
