How Serious Are You About Online Business?

So last night someone got chatting to me on facebook and we started to discuss marketing.

This person had committed to a mentoring programme and was paying $20 a week for the privillage. Now they were prepared to fork out for this mentoring but still using free hosting and hadn’t invested in an autoresponder.

To me this is just plain crazy and is the reason why so many people fail in the world of internet marketing.

The first module was a 17 part lesson on wordpress yet when I asked to see her blog it wasn’t online yet. I mean it’s a 1 minute job via your cpanel using fantastico (google it if you want more info).

For $80 per month you can get so much more information that could potentially change your life.

For example digital marketing lab is a similar price per month and it will give you cutting edge information from genuine information marketers who raking it in by selling real products to real people rather than selling hope to the desperate who want to believe that the internet has a secret that turns it into a ATM machine.

Alternative if you can’t justify the monthly commitment just yet then start thinking about you will be able to generate a steady monthly income that will allow you to invest in networking opportunities like digital marketing lab.

Start thinking about which niche you want to target and how you’re going to monetize it.

A good way to start is blogging, create 5 – 10 articles on a niche that you have a genuine passion about. Re-use the content and turn them into a free pdf report, an ecover from fiverr and you immediately have a great lead magnet that you can use for list building.

Create even more articles, record yourself doing something technical within the niche, interview an expert, and suddenly you have the basis of your own product that you can sell.

If I was to ask you today how I could join your list / buy something from you today could you give me a url?

Far too many people who claim to be affiliate marketers can’t answer this question. I know that it took me several years to overcome the fear of creating my own site / product, but once I did it the step increase in affiliate income was massive. So please think about overcoming your fears and start being a content producer rather than a content consumer.

I found that the teaching style of Lee McIntyre really helped me realise that I needed to create products and build a list of buyers. To celebrate his 4 year online anniversary online he’s doing a firesale where you can grab his products for one low price this week only.

I really hope that this message sinks in and helps you realise that magic bullets don’t exist, and that like everything else in life if you invest time and passion into the internet you can get a massive return.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts

Friday Freebie – Video Review

Hi

As it’s Friday night and I’ve put the girls to bed I decided to create some content and show you the benefits that one of my fiverr squeezepage critiques can give to your business.

Now first of all I must say that I congratulate everyone who has taken the first steps towards building a list and put themselves out of their comfort zone either mentally or technically. The person I have chosen is someone who has been active on facebook, and I really hope seeing their squeezepage through the eyes of someone with a bit more experience gives you an idea of how to make more money.

So the major things to address here are as follows:

The aweber redirect goes straight to the join-up page for trafficleads2income. I would change this to a confirm page so that people aren’t entering their email and then being asked to do the same thing again.

Not much point getting the intial opt-in only to confuse them within seconds and wonder what they’ve just entered that precious email address for?

If you want to see an example of a confirm page watch the video below this post and see how Ryan Deiss does it.

Next I would create a blog post that outlines the benefits of trafficleads2income and introduces yourself to the new subscriber. Make this as personal as possible and really try to connect with your new subscriber, it really will help you stand out from all the other affiliates, and probably get you noticed by the owners of the main affiliate site.

The first email was good as it did introduce yourself, but the use of the blog just helps to show the more personal approach, and suggest that there’s more to you than just promoting a make money online site.

By having this content on a blog you’re also able to passively be advertising. A good blog theme allows for placement of banner adverts and integration of social media so that you can really cement relationships.

A central blog with your own content means you have somewhere you can link back to when you comment on blogs / forums / social media. As a blog owner you need to big yourself up and tell people why you’re the expert in a particular field. If people see you telling them how successful you’ve been with traffic2leadsincome you stand a much better chance of getting them into the site and upgrading which means more commission for you :-)

So although the whole tone of the video is a little bit on the negative side please remember that just by creating the opt-in page Chris is well ahead of many others, and taking the steps outlined above will really help you become a better affiliate marketer.

Half Price FaceBook Adverts – By Ryan Diess

Second part of the pre-launch from Ryan Deiss for Digital Marketer
http://andrewstark.com/Half-Price-FaceBook-Ads

The content of the video is solid, it does show you a tactic used by Ryan’s staff to half the CPC of their adverts that are targeting the survival niche. It’s a great example of how doing the basics really does save you money.

Again I’ve recorded the opt-in process, very valuable if you want to see how the real experts are setting up squeezepages and adding in easy ways to make their content go viral.

Like all good squeezepages it’s super clear what is being given away, lot’s of arrows pointing to the opt-in box, and the video with pop-up is a classic Ryan Deiss design.

Watch, learn, and take action on the way that this squeezepage is set up.

The Easiest Way To Make Money With Facebook…

So first up, I’m actually using facebook under the pen name of Hugh Robertson – reason being that I don’t want the hassle of people I know in the real world reading my marketing stuff.

With that out of the way I’m going to share the ways that I’ve been able to generate over 1,000 friends in a short space of time and start to see that you can easily make money with facebook.

Use It Properly – Don’t Spam People!

Ok, this is the biggest mistake you can make. When you get a friend request accepted don’t celebrate by posting your affiliate link on their wall. Just because someone has a marketing profile doesn’t mean they want to know about your opportunity. Think about how you feel if you met someone in the street and the first thing they did was push you a business card into your hand what would you think of that person?

The next thing is to build gradually, try not to befriend anymore than 10 – 25 people per day. At the start go for people in your niche who you have heard of, and then when facebook tells you about potential mutual friends start thinking about expanding slowly. Jumping in and trying to add 500 friends in the first week may flag your account.

Also make sure that you come across as a real person, give real content, reply to comments with your own opinions and remember to use the like button if you think that something is worth sharing.

Start To Network With The Leaders Of Your Niche

The great think about facebook is due to it’s sheer popularity it attracts the market leaders, and gives you access to them. I’ve connected with the Ford Fiesta, Diesel Jeans, The Foo Fighters, and my awesome htc desire.

So no matter which niche you’re targeting the market leaders will have profiles / fanpages. If they don’t you buy one of the many products on this and you’ve find your first customer, or will earn massive leverage setting it up for them.

Facebook is designed to allow these leaders to get their message out to you, but at the same time it gives you a wonderful opportunity to give them direct feedback. For example if you bought a book and loved it then posting a testamonial on the author’s fanpage is the best way to get noticed.

By posting on the wall of your favorite brands / the top people in your niche these comments are visible to all the other raving fans, and suddenly you’re making real connections and networks which can be very powerful.

Create Groups And FanPages

By taking things a step further you can actually start to take on the role of the leader and gain influence. For example I have started a group on safelist marketing and just by posting about content the leading owners have started to post regularly and we’ve even seen promo codes for solo mailings being shared.

The future of niche advertising such as safelists and traffic exchanges is going to be social networking with other advertisers to start cross promotions. These days people don’t give out their best email for a free report, but if you link up aweber to your facebook profile then these your message stands more chance of being seen on their cellphone than the junk inbox they scan once a week.

Again, the viral nature of facebook here is just awesome, any group member can invite their friends. If you’re providing killer content people will be drawn to it by the comments of others. This is totally the opposite of a static blog post like this one.

Mix Up The Content

Try to do things differently, post questions on your wall to increase interaction. Post proper feedback on other people’s wall posts, share the youtube video’s you watch, show off when you buy a new gadget, and just generally make friends first and treat the traffic you generate as a bonus.

For example if you’ve just joined a new site and told the world how you’re loving the content and it’s helping you then posting an affiliate link is means you stand a good chance that the people clicking the link have the same mindset as you, and the conversions are going to be very high.

Anyway I look forward to networking with you

The End Of The Web Report By Ryan Deiss

I know what you’re thinking – yet another “Death Of Report” that’s just pre-launch crap.

Well yes, and no. Yes, it’s part of a pre-launch, but it’s actually good content. It’s 24 pages and took me ~ 10 minutes to read. The tone is very much pre-sell, but if you have a general interest the way that online business is heading then you will definitely enjoy reading it.

It’s kinda like a good opinionated blog post that has been converted into a swanky pdf.

The video below is demonstrating the squeezepage, and what you need to do to gain access to the report. Again you can see that unlike many other people Ryan can actually do what he’s teaching.
