Why did this squeezepage bomb?
Hi folks,
During the week I took action, I bought the rebrand rights to a report, rebranded it, uploaded it to the internet and set up what I thought was a cracking little squeezepage.
Now there is no way to sugercoat this, but the results of my safelist mailings have shown that the page did not convert.
I have ideas about what to change, but comments from you as subscribers and users of safelists would really help me.

This a TEtoolbox link which I’m using so I know where the traffic is coming from – you can hardly give away a free report on tracking without doing it yourself!
The stats shows that the safelists generated 250 c licks but sadly no-one opted in to receive the report – yes I did mean it totally bombed!
Normally this type of traffic would generate leads in double figures, and some of the non-credit sites have conversions of > 50%, so please tell me what what would put you off from entering your email?
Andrew
p.s. Here’s the advert that I used to generate the traffic
Are You Making This Newbie Mistakes?
Hi
Do you actually know if your safelist advertising is working?
If you want to find the best places to advertise then I recommend you download this free report

the links to your blog dont work
Hi Andrew. For some reason your links to the squeeze page aren’t working for me, but looking at the ad copy I wonder if the title/subject (“Are You Making This Newbie Mistakes?”) might not have been part of the problem, since to be grammatically correct it should have been either “These Newbie Mistakes” or “This Newbie Mistake”.
I know there’s been some amount of discussion around the ‘net in biz forums and such about improper grammar and incorrect spelling in ad copy and some folks are turned off by it. I *always* notice it because I was an English major, but I try not to let that put me off the meat of an advert when I see a mistake like that, I know some folks say they immediately turn off to it tho.
And I know some copywriters will drop in a misspelling and such on purpose sometimes. It is an attention-getter for many people, I think the negative feedback from those who say they skip ads because of errors probably outweighs the positives/neutrals like me (who sees them but overlooks them) though.
When I click on the link: http://www.trckrs.com/18177/blog I get an error…?
DNS error occurred. Server cannot be found.
It could be because the link is broken
when I clicked on the link, it came up blank
Andrew, the page did not load… Is it loading for you? Maybe that what happened…
I think the site is temporarily down, or might have moved
When clicking the link, in the bottom bar of firefox it shows it is trying to open page hhttp, looks like either you have made a mistake when entering the url in your tracking program or the tracking site isn’t working correctly, this would explain the reason of no opt ins.
too many https in the link dude. It goes to
http://hhttp//andrewstark.com/TrackToProfit/?tet=tg-18177
Yeah I don’t think anyone can see the page – it’s not loading – you would think even just on numbers you would have gotten at least 1 or 2. But the page from this link does not load…
Check the browser and things working ok on my machine so I thinks it’s a problem with the link or page Andrew…
Tom
Though I tried to access the page, I could not. The browser reported a problem with the link that ha been cloaked. Please check the link to the page and then post the corrected link. Only then can we view and comment on the page
I also get a error.
Seem like TE toolbox is not finding your squeeze page URL
Check the url you are tracking, from what I`ve seen at the bottom of the page when I click your link the tracker was looking for something beginning with “hhttp”
From my own experience their safelist out there that d’ont convert like they use to.
I am Curious to know where your 250 clicks came from .
Cheers,
Cedric
Ok, so the reason for 0 signups will be because I didn’t have the correct url in TEtoolbox, but that is now fixed!
Lynn, I hadn’t noticed the grammer error, I’m going on a scientific writing course later this month which should help me get my point accross in the correct manner. I’ve now dropped the “s” in my template and feel very much the fool myself!
Now I’ll have to make another post later in the week with the proper results, but please post your thoughts as critiques like this are always interesting reading.
Andrew
Looks like you have your answer, probably not the one you were expecting
I guess it holds a lesson for us all in testing everything after we put it up, we all know we should be from time to time we forget
Looks like a good squeeze page. The headline could probably use a little tweaking. It’s a little wordy and not very exciting. It also appears to be directed at people who are building a list which unfortunately is only a small percentage of your audience. Maybe just change it to “get the most sign-ups” or “get the best results”.
I could just be me, but there was on opt-in form when I looked at the page–and I sure don’t think anyone could sign up without one!
It’s a clean and neat page–a bit sterile compared to some, but still pleasant and not-fussy to view. The blue and black/or vice-versa, image can be a little hard to read, but I didn’t think it was bad. There was very little written about the report–maybe a little more could have been said about the benefits of tracking and how easy it would be if one had the right information.
It really seems demonstrate that aside from having to double-check all the technical stuff, there is a constant need to be evaluating how something works. Thanks for including us in the conversation.
Best wishes, Jim
Andrew,
Nice looking squeeze page. It should pull, just takes a lot more clicks now than it did a few months age.
Hi Andrew,
The subject of the email, well I don’t like to be called a newbie, even if I act like one at times within my marketing arena. Also I would change the color of the font text to red.
Hope this helps a bit.
Hello Andrew. Saw your link on Warrior Forum and was interested. My tip for your squeeze page would be to add video. Even silent video like I did here (NOT an aff link);
http://onvideo1.com/golfpay/golfmt1.html
That page coverts at around 60% with targeted facebook traffic.
There is a Traffic Regenerator pop at that link above, so if those offend you, don’t go there.
