I get lost in your video and my mind wanders away. You probably should distill your message to one solid thought, ie: “For what you spend on fast food you can start your own business. Download now.”

Your sign up procedure needs work. As Niche says, Twitter signup and password is a lot to ask for. Most people won’t give you a password. And you don’t need it. Just ask them to follow you and give your twitter address. They’ll do it.

As for the pre-filled entry box, there are better ways of doing that too. You might want to check out the method I used on a little contest page that I’ve linked to my name. Take a look at the code and fairly easy to figure out.

Twitter is just now starting to reach the mainstream, so the best days for any twitter promotion are yet to come. But by getting in early you’ll be prepared when the crowds show up.

I find it remarkable that so many people have things to talk about on twitter. I spend all day working away trying to make money online so other than saying this which I think would bore people after a while I have nothing to say.

Americans just seem to have this type of promotion down very naturally.

I’ve been listening to WIIFM rather than WIIFY, so it’s little wonder that people aren’t retweeting.

So I’ll need to go back to the drawing board, and make sure that people have a real incentive to retweet because they want to – I’m thinking a contest with a prize

I enjoy your e-mails a lot, especially since I lived in England for a while in the late nineties in London. However, partly why you do not get the feedback you think you should have, is that people have less and less time to join new things. We are busy, and sometimes days go by before I can even open your e-mails. Every time you turn around you are approached by one social network or another. There are too many established forums, ezines, other entities catering to peoples’ general interests, etc. Also, my initial gut reaction is who wants to twitter? For what purpose? What is a twitter? To me a twitter is a useless background noise. I am a musician. The difference between noise and music is rhythm. There is too much noise pollution in general in our lives anyway, and I am not about to “subscribe” to a twitter group of any sort — it’s kind of like visually wearing rings through ones nose, or lips, etc. What for? People do not have the time for such foolishness. Please find another forum in which to express yourself, more seriously? Really.

A good one is StartUpBiz. Look it up in a Google search. That network consists of really neat people who have real businesses promoting real products, for the most part, or new enterprises which are valid and legitimate. I’m not saying that what you say is not legitimate — au contraire — you have a good mind and are very smart, I hope smart enough not to tolerate such a wimpy name as “twitter,” or give that name credence in the greater scheme of life and what you really want to accomplish.

Much better to have natural retweets because of the quality of the content than trying to bribe someone as it is a different culture.
