Unlike other Traffic Exchanges this is the first that is trying to embrace the whole web2.0 area. You can join teams, and are encourage to add a photo to your profile, and actually interact with other marketers rather than just trying to sell.
I’ve set up a team for ListBanditExpert so if you’re not already in a team please join me. Rather than the normal credits it look like the traffic is done on a time basis – I’ve bought 10,000 time units – should be enough to get my site noticed as the number of surfers always peaks at the launch of a new exchange.
Remember that if you do want to get results from this type of traffic you should be advertising a squeeze page, and use it to build your brand – you only get 10 seconds to get your point across.
I spend about 30 minutes a week surfing 6 exchanges I know are actually delivering traffic and helping to get across my brand. I also gain extra traffic by promoting myviralpopads link rather than the straight squeeze page link – more on this in this post
Last weekend I decided to have a good clearout and get rid of a load of old DVD’s and other stuff. They ended today, and the last minute buzz of late bids was quite a buzz, plus it’s more profitable and better for the planet than just chucking the stuff out. Now my feedback is over 100 I’ll put up my old mobile and some of Granny Pat’s dresses she gave us to flog last year.
I wonder if listing them with me modeling the dresses would get more bidders?
Anyway I’ve spent most of the weekend working on someone else’s website, whilst knocking down the old units in our kitchen – which means that next weekend I’ll need to load up the car and take the garage full of rubbish to the tip!
Demolition was the fun part, and it was good therapy for taking out my frustration as doing freelance work for other people is harder work than you would think. If you ever think about doing a LFM site please don’t go overboard with fancy graphics.
Speaking of which if you do have an idea for a site that uses Launch Formula Marketing or Butterfly Marketing then I’m thinking of doing this on a more regular basis as it should be a more reliable form of income than affiliate marketing.
I haven’t finalised my prices yet, probably at least £100 to do the following:
Install the script
Integrate with aweber
Set up the template – remember nice and simple for LFM!
Adding the order button and membership levels
Formatting the salesletter and OTO
From experience I outsource the graphics and copywriting, but as my strength is putting it all together I think it’s about time I started helping other people, and getting paid to gain more experience.
The SqueezePage is the #1 tool of any affiliate marketer looking to build a list.
This can be split into 2 types of SqueezePage.
The Pre-Sell
This is used by product owners to get build a list and increase conversion on the main salespage.
For example if the product was “How to Make Money With Google Adwords” it would give away a free report / video about what the product does and why it’s the best thing since sliced bread. If people aren’t interested enough in the free report then chances of selling them a product would be very slim.
Essentially this is the basis for creating a “Butterfly Marketing” site where the product is sold as the One Time Offer, and a %age is paid out for every sale. By doing this the owner is not only building a list, but every member of the list now has an incentive to promote the squeeze page.
This brings us nicely onto the second type of squeeze page
The Viral Report
This is where you create an opt-in page to give away a report in return for an email address. Any half decent marketer will provide affiliates with a report they can brand it with their own link. Clickbank has lots of products you can promote in this manner.
For squeeze pages like this I would recommend that you size it so that the opt-in form is above the fold of the page, and you only give the visitor 1 option – join your list or close the window! If you plan on using several different reports it would be good to get a graphic designer to create a template which will contain your name – this will help you build your brand and stand out from the crowd.
If you want some tips on how to monetize this process I suggest you read and join SAW
The bottom line
If you’ve not currently got any squeeze pages then you’re not building a list, and not having a list means you’ll struggle to make an impact in the internet marketing world.
To get a free critique of your squeeze page please post a comment with a link.
It’s like Tony Blair famously once said “Education, Education, and Education”. If you want to run a profitable website you need to the basics, and it wasn’t until I learned the basic skill set that I started to turn a profit.
I’ve broken these educational skill sets down into 3 area’s, kinda like primary school, secondary school, and then university. It’s important that you realise that if you haven’t been to primary that you’ll struggle if you jump straight in at degree level material.
This is one of the points that Frank Kern has been making in his recent mass control video’s, people don’t want to buy the basic primary school stuff, they want the PHD level courses. Which if why people suffer from “information overload” and get into debt buying stuff they don’t need.
Now here’s what I would expect a primary school marketer to be able to achieve.
Register a domain name, and point the nameservers to your hosting account.
Understand ftp and be able to add pages to your website
Ability to use a wysiwyg html editor
Be able to brand a viral report and upload the pdf file to a “thank-you” page
Copy and paste html code to add banners / unadvertised bonus to “thank-you” page
Now moving into secondary school
Understand the opt-in process, and know how to create opt-in pages to give away a viral report
Create a paypal button so that you can start to receive payments
Buy rights to a product related to the viral report so that you have something to sell
Start sending traffic to the opt-in page via Traffic Exchanges, Safelists, and other low cost methods
Indentify possible mentors and hang out at internet marketing forums
Moving onto University level
Identify a niche and create a report suitable for list building in this niche
Move onto installing scripts, or identify someone who can do this for you
Start a viral marketing campaign by turning the report into a membership site
Do joint ventures with people who have similar sized lists
Invest the profits back into continued learning so that you become an expert in your field.
Now I would like to think that I’m at university level. Importantly it doesn’t matter where you are, but that you identify products / people that will allow you to educate yourself and take you closer towards being able to afford the home study courses and understanding how to implement the knowledge they give you.
As always I hope you find this article usefull, and I’d appreciate it if you could take a minute to leave a comment.
